Bill Clinton’s daughter has broken her silence

Former President Bill Clinton offered a reassuring message on his health Wednesday, stating he expects to continue his public service and philanthropic work “for a lot longer” after being discharged from a week-long hospital stay for sepsis.

In a video posted to his official social media accounts, Clinton expressed deep gratitude to supporters and praised the medical team at the University of California Irvine Medical Center for their exceptional care.

“I was so touched by the outpouring of support I received during my stay in the hospital. Thanks so much,” Clinton said. “I’d also like to thank the doctors and nurses at UC Irvine Medical Center for the absolutely wonderful care that they gave me over the last seven days.”

Clinton, 79, was hospitalized after a urological infection spread to his bloodstream, resulting in sepsis. According to an aide, he never progressed to septic shock — the most severe form of the condition — and responded well to treatment. Physicians confirmed his fever had subsided and his white blood cell count had normalized by the time of discharge.

Now back at his home in New York, Clinton is completing a prescribed course of oral antibiotics. In the video, he appeared in good spirits, enjoying the fall weather and clearly relieved to be home.

“I’m really glad to be back home. I’m doing great, enjoying this beautiful fall weather. I’m on the road to recovery,” he said. “I, for one, am going to do my best to be around, to keep doing the most good I can, for a lot longer.”

Clinton used the platform to encourage Americans to prioritize their health, stressing the importance of recognizing early warning signs and seeking prompt medical attention.

“Take the time to listen to your bodies and care for yourselves,” he advised. “We all have work to do, and each of us has an important role to play in life and in the immediate future.”

The former president’s message combined personal appreciation for the widespread well wishes he received with a broader call for health awareness. His positive tone and quick recovery trajectory underscore his continued commitment to public life and the Clinton Foundation’s global initiatives.

Clinton has maintained an active schedule in recent years, focusing on humanitarian efforts, climate initiatives, and political advocacy. This recent health episode serves as a reminder of the vulnerabilities even high-profile individuals face, while highlighting advances in rapid sepsis treatment that contributed to his swift recovery.

As he continues recuperating at home, Clinton’s optimistic outlook signals he remains ready to engage in the causes that have defined his post-presidency.
