Trump Revives ‘Clinton Body Count’ Conspiracy Theory with Truth Social Video

Former President Donald Trump has reignited long-standing political controversy by sharing a video on his Truth Social platform titled “The Video Hillary Clinton Does Not Want You to See.” The clip compiles a series of deaths linked to former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, promoting the decades-old “Clinton Body Count” conspiracy theory that has circulated in fringe political circles for years.

The video highlights several high-profile cases. It references the 1999 plane crash that killed John F. Kennedy Jr., suggesting he posed a potential obstacle to Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate campaign in New York. It also revisits the 1993 suicide of White House Counsel Vince Foster, ruled as such by multiple investigations yet persistently questioned by conspiracy proponents. Other cases include the 1997 shooting death of former White House intern Mary Mahoney during a Washington, D.C., robbery and the death of James McDougal, a Whitewater scandal figure who died of cardiac arrest in federal custody in 1998.

More recent inclusions feature the 2016 murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, whom the video implies was connected to the WikiLeaks release of Clinton campaign emails, despite police attributing his death to a botched robbery. Additional names cited include Shawn Lucas, a Bernie Sanders supporter involved in a DNC lawsuit, and Walter Scheib, a former White House executive chef found dead in New Mexico.

Fact-checking organizations such as Snopes have repeatedly debunked the “Clinton Body Count” narrative since the late 1990s. Law enforcement and independent investigations have found no credible evidence linking the Clintons to these deaths. The theory resurfaced prominently after Jeffrey Epstein’s 2019 suicide, drawing criticism from Democrats for the spread of misinformation on social media.

Trump’s decision to amplify these claims underscores the intense polarization in American politics and the influential role of digital platforms in sustaining contested narratives. Observers note that such rhetoric continues to deepen divisions between political factions.
